Ken Brown rates Aldwickbury Park

Ryder Cup star and BBC Golf TV commentator Ken Brown recently visited Aldwickbury Park Golf Club to review the results of a £¾ million upgrade to the 18-hole golf course that he designed in 1993.
Ken, a four-times European Tour winner who played in five Ryder Cups, and who lives in Harpenden, was particularly impressed with enhancements to the greens and fairways on the outstanding 6,352-yard, par 71 Park Course, designed to make Aldwickbury Park the best quality course in the region.
“The course at Aldwickbury Park Golf Club has never looked better – the team has done a great job in the past 12 months,” said Ken, who co-designed the course with golf course architect Martin Gillett. “Our design brief at Aldwickbury Park was to build a top class course, for all to enjoy, constructed to a high specification to produce premier quality greens, tees and fairways.”

Learn Golf in a Week

In June we will be staging the first Learn Golf in a Week coaching course of the year - an event that has seen many participants go onto regular golf and full membership. The course commences on 2nd June with an hours coaching from 19:00 - 20:00 on the Monday, Wednesday and Friday of that week. The first three sessions cover the various clubs and shots in golf and then its onto the 9-hole course for an hours coaching from 13:30 on the Sunday. At just £50 per person for the four one hour sessions the course is fantastic value and a great way of experiencing the many aspects of golf.

Long Driving Champion tees it up at APGC

Adam Stacey took time out of his busy Long Driving Tour schedule to give members a few tips on hitting the ball further. Adam who came 3rd in last year's World Long Driving Championship wowed the audience with many drives going over the 350yard mark.
